On 14 March 2011 the Society was pleased to be able to present a cheque for £1,000 to local Aberdeen cancer support charity CLAN (Cancer Link Aberdeen & North). The donation was agreed by the members at the AGM in 2010.
Since it was established in 1928 the Society has supported many local and national charities and non-profit groups both through performing at fundraising concerts and also by making direct donations from surplus funds.
Presenting the cheque to CLAN fundraising manager Debra Christie, Society President Graeme Henderson said "We're delighted to be able to make this £1,000 donation to CLAN as part of the Society's approach of 'making a reel difference'."
