Scots Trad Music Award Voting Open

Hands up for Trad and their panel of industry judges are once again on the lookout for the very best in the traditional music for this year’s MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards.  Since 2003, Hands up for Trad have been celebrating the best in Scottish traditional music from across the country.

History

Aberdeen Strathspey and Reel Society was established in 1928.  Since then the society has flourished to it's current level of 85 regular members.  These members range in age from 11 to over 90. We also have a well attended junior section.

About Us

Aberdeen Strathspey & Reel Society's orchestras have been performing traditional Scottish music since 1928. Our aim today is the same as it has been since our formation – preserving and encouraging traditional Scottish music through practice and performance.

New playing members are alway welcome, refer to the join us page for more information.
