Aberdeen Strathspey and Reel Society was established in 1928.  Since then the society has flourished to its current level of around 60 members of all ages.

The society performs at various venues throughout the North East of Scotland and hosts the annual Aberdeen Fiddlers’ Rally which in recent years has taken place in the magnificent surroundings of the City’s Tivoli Theatre.

The society has always supported local charities and many of its concerts are used to raise funds.  We are also regularly found at sheltered housing, afternoon clubs and care homes playing for the residents.  Our more senior members are even allowed to leave sometimes!

To celebrate our 75th anniversary in 2003 we produced a book which highlights more of the history of the Society.  It also includes many of the tunes synonymous with the Society as well as several stories from and about Society members past and present.

The book, together with CDs produced by the Society are available to purchase at our concerts or by contacting us directly.
